Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is thousands of years old and has changed little over the centuries. Its basic concept is that a vital force of life, called Qi, surges through the body. Any imbalance to Qi can cause disease and illness.
Ancient Chinese believed that humans are microcosms of the larger surrounding universe, and are interconnected with nature and subject to its forces. Balance between health and disease is a key concept. TCM treatment seeks to restore this balance through treatment specific to the individual.
Chinese Medicine is composed of several parts:
- Medical Herbology
- Cupping/ Gua Sha
- Various forms of Massage and Manual manipulation, similar to Chiropractic care.
Chinese Medicine is highly effective or a wide variety of diseases and illnesses. As with another form of medicine it is very dependent on the patient and the condition at hand. Treatments must match the diagnosis for each patient. Chinese medicine is not a one size fits all therapy. It must be adjusted to each individuals personal needs. When it is, patients will experience noticeable improvements quickly in most cases. For more long term, chronic cases treatment may take much longer.
This is a common concern amongst some patients. In our clinic we only sell the highest quality of granulated and raw herbs possible. all of our herbs come from reputable distributes and pass all FDA regulatory guidelines for entering the States. 90% of our herbs that we carry come from Taiwan and must pass gregious chemical testings before they are prepared into their current granulated form.
